We’re thrilled to announce that this year Melbourne Furry Convention will be supporting Friends of Leadbeater’s Possum, an organization dedicated to protecting one of Victoria’s most iconic and endangered species.
Declared almost certainly extinct in 1960, the Leadbeater’s Possum made a miraculous comeback in 1961 when it was rediscovered near Marysville. Since then, this tiny marsupial has captured hearts as Victoria’s official faunal emblem, highlighting the importance of conservation in our beautiful state.
By supporting Friends of Leadbeater’s Possum, we’re joining the effort to preserve their habitat and secure a future for this fascinating species. Stay tuned for how you can get involved at MFC 2025! Together, we can make a difference.
